When people ask my clients why they invest in fine art for their family all of them resoundingly say the same things. “It is the most important investment we can make to capture our children as they grow….after all they are grown and gone in a few years.” Others have had no images of their own childhoods and having parents pass away and no images of a loved parent to pass down feel the sense of urgency to capture relationships. I have never had a client sorry that they brought me their mothers and fathers to shoot for the first and sometimes the last times as grandparents. When people ask me why I do this instead of whatever profession they soon come to realize that what I am is not a photographer at all. I am a family member to each of my clients. I know their children…I have also watched them grow and I know when they make their smiles and funny faces that are true and unique to them. I capture their essence…their soul if you will. Finding an Artist is critical to preserving your family history for it is in that special long term relationship that the magic happens. One thing is absolutely for sure; after you and I are gone the most cherished things that you can leave behind to your children will be your fine art collections.
